Fancy a challenge? The West Midlands office of Diabetes UK are looking for people to take part in a sponsored zip slide off the roof of Birmingham City Football Club.
Zippers will find themselves stood on the roof of the Railway End stand before zipping at 30mph diagonally across the pitch. A truly exhilarating experience.

Joanna Oldfield, Regional Fundraising Manager for Diabetes UK West Midlands comments “This is the first time a zip slide has taken place at Birmingham City Football Club and it should be a great event. We hope to have lots of people join us on the day to raise vital funds for diabetes research”.

The zip slide will take place on Saturday 03 May and costs £35 per person. There will be the choice of an AM or PM slot. All participants will receive a fundraising pack and Diabetes UK baseball cap. The event is open to children who weigh 6 stone and over.

Diabetes is a serious condition which affects over two million people in the UK.  This figure is expected to reach over three million by 2010.  It is vital that Diabetes UK can continue to provide support and services to the growing number of people with diabetes.  Diabetes UK spends £7 million a year funding research projects in the hope that one day a cure will be found.
